The Details

On The day of your adventure

1. Wake Up early and go to the ATM

Go to the ATM BEFORE you make your way towards the Marina. You’ll need to pay the remaining balance, as well as $200 Pesos (or $20 USD) Per-Person for a 1-day fishing license.

Everyone prefers you pay the balance in cash, because if they have to run your credit card on -site, you’ll have to pay an extra 16% for IVA (Mexican Sales Tax), AND its an extra hassle for the Captain because he’ll usually have to wait at least a week before getting paid from the bank. No Bueno.

Side Note… While on vacation, we recommend you save every receipt that shows you paid IVA, and take those receipts with you to the airport. Before you board, stop by the IVA office and hand them your receipts. In about 10 min you’ll have a cash refund for all paid IVA courtesy of the Mexican Government.

2. Get to Marina Puerto Los Cabos by 6am.

Take the road adjacent to the Marina all the way down towards “La Playita”. When you dead end into a rotunda, park and look for the Cabo Costa “Hut”.

3. Check-In

Fill out the form for your fishing license and pay your balance. Hopefully you followed step 1.

4. Meet your Captain aka Fish Whisperer

Since we have over 20 Vessels in our fleet, we try our best to keep things as fair as possible and therefore all boats and Captains are put on a rotation. This means you’ll be assigned a specific vessel and Captain upon arrival. However if you prefer a specific boat, feel free to request it ahead off time by sending us a message via WhatsApp, at least 12-24 hours in advance. We will do our best to accommodate based on the availability of the Captain.

5. Catch Lunkers & Take Lots of Photos

Lunker: An exceptionally large specimen of something, in particular (among anglers) a fish.

6. Return to Marina

When you get back , the Captain will make sure your fish are cleaned filleted. This is the moment where you can add a tip if you like. If you’re cool, you’ll do it. You wanna be “cool”, don’t you?
Next, we recommend you take your fish and walk over to either La Marina Inn, or the tiny hole-in-the-wall restaurant next door. The chef at La Marina is a very well known, 5-star general that cooks amazing food from around the world. The guy next door is a bad ass too, but he sticks to the traditional Mexican-Style Mariscos type of preparation. Either way, your taste buds will be happy.

7. Show Us LOVE

If you enjoyed the adventure, please remember to rate and review us on all the things: Trip Advisor, Google Maps, Facebook, Etc… For your participation, you will receive 3 Cool points, and a lucky star. Thanks in advance!
